In short: DefensX is a browser security platform that protects users inside existing browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Brave. Core covers DNS, phishing and password protection; Core+ adds data leak and AI controls; Premium adds risk reporting, training and remote browser isolation; Premium+ adds application control, BYOD access and ZTNA.
What DefensX does
DefensX works on a simple principle: phishing pages, credential theft, risky downloads and data leaks mostly happen in a browser tab, so the browser is the place to stop them. Rather than asking users to change browser, it protects the ones they already use. DefensX's knowledge base lists Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Vivaldi, Chromium and ChatGPT Atlas, and the agent runs on Windows and macOS.
Protection works at three points:
- Before a page loads: advanced DNS protection blocks malicious and unwanted domains, and DefensX describes it as VPN-friendly
- While a page is open: AI visual phishing detection looks for pages that imitate trusted sites, zero trust password protection helps stop corporate credentials being entered where they should not be, and in Premium and above risky sites can be opened in remote browser isolation
- When data leaves: browser data leak protection controls what can be uploaded or pasted, and AI prompt protection stops sensitive data going into AI tools
The company was previously called Isoolate, so you may still see that name on older documentation and app listings. It is an extension-based option in the terms of our browser security guide.
DefensX editions compared
Each edition includes everything in the one below it, and DefensX says customers can mix and match tiers. DefensX can change the feature split, so we confirm it when we quote.

DefensX lists 30-day log retention for Core and 90-day log retention for Premium; we confirm retention for the tier you choose.
Core suits organisations that mainly want phishing and credential protection everywhere. Core+ is the step to take once staff use AI tools or handle data that must stay in the business. Premium adds isolation plus the reporting and training needed to manage human risk. Premium+ turns DefensX into an access layer that DefensX positions as a VPN and VDI replacement for many users.
ZTNA and VPN replacement
Premium+ includes integrated zero trust network access (ZTNA) to company web apps and on-premises systems, which DefensX launched in 2025. DefensX agents can be given a connector role to reach internal systems, so no separate gateway software is needed, and Premium+ also covers access from unmanaged devices and BYOD users, with DefensX's data leak controls applying to those sessions.
That makes DefensX a practical way to let contractors and staff on personal devices reach internal apps without a full VPN client. For apps that need network-level access, compare dedicated options in our ZTNA guide, such as Microsoft Entra Private Access and Zero Networks.
DefensX compared with other approaches
| Option | How it differs from DefensX |
|---|---|
| DNS filtering only | Blocks domains but cannot see page content, credentials entered or data pasted |
| Island Enterprise Browser | A dedicated browser with deeper last-mile controls; users switch browser for work |
| Secure web gateway | Inspects traffic for every app, not only the browser, usually via a proxy and TLS inspection |
| Check Point Workforce AI Security | Focused specifically on AI use across browsers, desktop apps, agents and code assistants |
DefensX is a good fit when you want layered browser protection without changing browser or running a proxy, and when a single product covering phishing, data leakage and AI use is easier to run than several tools.
Deployment and licensing
DefensX runs as an agent on Windows and macOS devices and is managed from DefensX's cloud console, with RMM and PSA support included from Core, which suits organisations whose IT is run by a managed service provider. DefensX is sold by subscription in the tiers above, and you can mix tiers, for example Core for most staff and Premium+ for contractors. DefensX also offers Nexi, an AI agent for workforce and risk reporting, which is outside the scope of this page.

How we help
We check what your existing web, email and endpoint security already blocks, then recommend the DefensX edition that adds real value for each group of users. We deploy to a pilot group, tune data leak and AI policies with you so they do not get in the way of legitimate work, and then roll out. Combine it with security awareness training to reduce the human risk DefensX reports on.

How Forever Systems helps with cloud security
We are an independent UK IT and cyber security provider. We supply and support a wide range of security platforms, so we recommend what fits your organisation rather than one vendor's answer to everything.
- Assess first: we review what you already own, especially your Microsoft 365 licences, before suggesting anything new
- Vendor-aware advice across secure access, email, identity, data protection, endpoint, MDR, cloud infrastructure, browser, AI and backup, including Cisco Secure, Check Point Harmony and Sophos
- Deployment and migration from a UK team, from tenant hardening to replacing a VPN or an endpoint product
- Ongoing support: policy tuning, alert handling, renewals and regular reviews
- People and certification too: security awareness training and Cyber Essentials
We work with businesses, schools, charities and public sector organisations.

Contact usFrequently asked questions
What is DefensX?
DefensX is a browser security platform that protects users inside the browsers they already use. It combines DNS protection, phishing and credential protection, data leak and AI prompt controls, and in higher editions remote browser isolation and zero trust access to company apps.
Is DefensX the same as Isoolate?
Yes. DefensX was previously known as Isoolate, and the browser security platform is now sold under the DefensX name. You may still see Isoolate on older documentation and app listings.
Which DefensX edition includes ZTNA?
Zero trust access to web and on-premises apps is included in Premium+, alongside application control and access from unmanaged and BYOD devices. Because tiers can be mixed, you can put only the users who need ZTNA on Premium+.
Does DefensX stop staff pasting data into ChatGPT?
From Core+ upwards, DefensX includes AI prompt protection, AI data leak protection and shadow AI protection, which can stop sensitive data being entered into AI tools. Premium adds logging of LLM prompts.
How is DefensX licensed?
DefensX is sold by subscription in four tiers, Core, Core+, Premium and Premium+, which can be mixed across your users. Ask us for a quote based on your user numbers and the tiers you need.
